Long course training is one of the best ways to develop speed in open water or efficiency for distance racing. Short pool workouts depend on as much as 20-25% of the length being the push-off. Long course (50 meter pool) training is like jumping off the treadmill and onto the trail.
Our summer workouts are popular with Masters and multisport athletes, along with youth swimmers looking for additional training. Mondays are a bit longer, but every practice comes with technical challenges and guidance and varied workouts based on ability levels. with 7-10 lanes of 50-meter space available, we can get a lot done!
We meet Mondays and Thursdays at the Richfield Outdoor Pool, 630 E 66th Street in Richfield. It's a short hop off 35W and Hwy 62. 7:15-8:30 Mondays and 7:15-8:15 Thursdays.
